- Experimental Soup Ticket
March 5, 2017
10:30 am - 1:30 pm
What might happen if you press pause on your busy life and take a moment to truly taste the food in front of you? This is what you’ll discover at a Food At Heart event.
Experimental Soup & Salad Club helps you pause and truly taste, using all your senses. Blending the calm of yoga with the craft of a cooking class, it’s a social experience mixing fun, focus and flavour.
You’ll take part in reflective tasting and have the chance to experiment with flavours and textures. With the first signs of spring and the end of the winter, we’ll take advantage of some fresher flavours and uplifting aromas. This includes a refreshing soup which we’ll design together and enjoy as a starter dish.
You’ll also join forces with fellow participants to ‘invent’ delicious meat-free dishes using seasonal ingredients. It’s a little like MasterChef’s Invention Test – but less judgy. You’ll each be given a set of key ingredients with lots of seasonings and flavourings to add. You can let your food and flavour imagination run wild! We’ll create calming salads to celebrate the end of the chilly winter winds.
Experimental Soup & Salad Club finishes with a shared meal of the flavour-filled dishes you’ve created.
The final menu will be designed by you and includes:
– Make The Most Of March Soup – we’ll design a simple and delicious soup using March seasonal vegetables and some surprising reviving flavours
– Come On Kale Salad – kale has had a bit of a comeback in the last few years; we’ll create a tasty salad using this special leaf along with some other delicious in-season ingredients
– How Do You Say It ‘Quinoa’ Salad – did you know that you can now buy British grown organic quinoa? We’ll use some wonderful Hodmedod’s quinoa to make a substantial and soothing salad (and it’s pronounced ‘keen-wah’ in case you’re wondering)
Come prepared to crunch, slurp and savour.
The ticket price includes all the ingredients used in the food / cooking session (ingredients are organic / sustainable, seasonal and local where possible).
Tickets are non-refundable, but you may give/sell your ticket to another person.
