We had the most beautiful weekend of people, food We had the most beautiful weekend of people, food and cups of tea with friends and family we haven't seen in a while. It was so rejuvenating! πŸ’š It was topped off with an amazing Syrian meal at @the_hanging_gardens_llani. I fortunately left a little space for dessert. It was almost entirely plsnt-based which was pretty amazing. It was also really lovely to see so many people from the community enjoying delicious food πŸ˜πŸ’šπŸ™ #supperclub #community #mindfulliving
After a gorgeous few days of sunshine it's bucketi After a gorgeous few days of sunshine it's bucketing down in Mid Wales - which is rather perfect for my garden! But I enjoy hot chocolate in all weathers 😁. I have to replace the organic cacao powder I add to the chocolate in my hot chocolate blends so it's been a good excuse to do some tasting. I had a lovely early morning walk with gentle sunshine and then a beautiful dip in the river over the road to end my working day. It feels so lovely to be able to connect with nature this way and was one of the reasons we moved to such a beautiful part of the world. I'm currently feeling very grateful! On Monday I had a proper read of the Loneliness re On Monday I had a proper read of the Loneliness report put together by @mentalhealthfoundation for this year's Mental Health Awareness Week - and one of the tips around reducing loneliness was to spend time with pets. I actually chat away to Taz throughout the day (even though he mostly has NO idea what I'm saying) and he really is a companion to me. I can't even remember what it was like to not have a little dog around. πŸ• If you struggle to connect with people, animals can be a great alternative (and lots of studies have shown having pets reduces stress levels - apart from when they break into what you thought were your well protected cocoa nibs and you have to rush them to the vets πŸ™ˆ). πŸ• Weekend Taz snuggles are still one of my favourite times of the week - and I've found he's really helped us to meet people in our new(ish) neck of the woods. So thank you Taz!!! πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawarenessweek #mhaw2022
What does loneliness feel like for you? This week' What does loneliness feel like for you? This week's @mentalhealthfoundation Mental Health Awareness Week is all about loneliness. It's really important as loneliness can have a really big impact on our physical and mental health. But loneliness is different for different people! πŸ’š Everyone - and I mean everyone - feels lonely at some point in their lives. Feeling lonely is part of the human experience. But it doesn't make it easy, especially when it's a long term rather than a short term thing. Unfortunately there's still a lot of stigma we attach to loneliness, which is why it's SO important to talk about it. πŸ’š I know I have felt lonely at times over the last few years of Covid - and that's even with a loving partner and a crazy little dog to keep me company. And at times it's made me want to retreat rather than reaching out to people. So please, please don't feel ashamed if you feel lonely at the moment. Recognise and allow it as much as you can. πŸ’š I'll be sharing some information across this week about gently rebuilding connections with yourself and others as a way to manage loneliness. (And I highly recommend following the Mental Health Foundation as they'll have lots of great posts this week 😘) #mhaw2022 #mindfulmoments #loneliness
